Memphis, Tennessee With Dainty Meadows

By Amy Lor

Stores along Beale Street
The Lorraine Hotel, where Martin Luther King was assassinated on April 4, 1968.
I traveled to Memphis for the first time this summer for a short work trip. I was excited to explore and experience the South and let me tell you- what they say about Tennessee being the "music city" was true. I took a stroll on Beale Sreet and was welcomed by street performers, painters and music playing all around me. It is a significant location in the city's history, as well as in the history of the blues.

The culture here makes you feel alive and the music is a breath of fresh air!

I was also able to visit the National Civil Rights Museum. The National Civil Rights Museum is a complex of museums and historic buildings in Memphis, Tennessee; its exhibits trace the history of the Civil Rights Movement in the United States from the 17th century to the present.
